HOW IT WORKS ?
Hardware
- Each module has an electronic block connected with USB to the computer
- Each electronic block contains interface cards connected to the differents items on the layout (points, signals, track circuit...)
- The layout is composed of 24 points and 48 track circuits
- Train detection is effective. Axles are graphited.

Alls cards are self-made.
Software
The (self-made) software has been developped on Linux system with C/C++ language.
It's a generic software. That means, it doesn't contain any topologic information on the tracks. The tracks map is described in "look like" .ini files.
Then each modification or evolution can be easily integrated.
With the graphic and intuitive user interface, everyone can operate the layout.
Software takes care of all (trains tracking, routes opening, safety,....). Like a real signalbox, a control panel gives all informations of the layout.
Like in reality, to make a train move, a route must be set first.
To set a route is very easy : Click on start point, click on destination point and it's done !
| On control panel, differents colours are used : |
